11/29/15: East Naples Man Working for Moving Company Accused of Theft
Police arrested an East Naples resident after the man allegedly stole over $50,000 worth of jewelry while working for a moving company. The man allegedly stole the merchandise while the 80-year-old woman was having the moving company arrange furniture at her apartment.
Robert Ridge Clinton 44, allegedly stole 8 total items during the theft earlier this month. Clinton allegedly sold three of the stolen items at a local pawnshop just after the robbery was first reported. He allegedly stole the elderly woman’s wedding anniversary ring that was valued just under $40,000. Police said that Clinton’s last known address was the St. Matthew’s House on Airport-Pulling Road. Clinton was charged with dealing in stolen property, false verification of ownership to a secondhand dealer, and theft of $50,000 or more from a person 65 years or older.
