1/9/16: Intoxicated Floridian Allegedly Makes Bomb Threat on Telephone
Police reported to the press that Florida resident Jeffery Lauer made a bomb threat to Bright House Networks yesterday. Reports stated that Lauer was intoxicated at the time of the call.
Lauer allegedly called Bright House Networks at about 5 a.m. when his television stopped working. Bright House Networks outsources their customer calls to a company in Canada, and a third-party worker told police Lauer threatened to blow up the Bright House Network’s offices three or four times. Lauer allegedly said over the phone that he would, “go down to the office and blow you [expletive] up.” Reports stated that while Lauer was at jail, he asked to call his mother. The deputy allowed Lauer to make the call and helped him dial since he was in hand cuffs. Lauer allegedly told his mother, “I made a bomb threat.” Lauer is being held in jail on a $5,000 bond.
