9/29/15: Florida Man Arrested for Alleged Murder in Largo
23-year-old Frank Charles Freeman has been arrested for allegedly killing someone in a home invasion gone wrong. According to police, Freeman and two (as of yet unidentified) other suspects attempted to break into McKinley Torbit Jr.’s apartment. They were unable to break in. That’s when Torbit reportedly opened the door and a confrontation ensued.
Reports indicate that Torbit was unarmed when he opened the door. He was shot during the confrontation and died from his injuries at the Morton Plant Hospital sometimes later.
Although Freeman is the only person arrested thus far, authorities state that more arrests are pending. For the death of Torbit, Freeman is facing a charge of murder in the first degree. He was taken to Pinellas County jail.
