Contact a Fort Myers Criminal Defense Lawyer from Viacava & Cantor if you have been arrested for Prostitution or Solicitation of Prostitution in Fort Myers, Naples, Cape Coral, Port Charlotte or Punta Gorda.  Prostitution and Solicitation of Prostitution arrests are effectuated in two different ways in Southwest Florida. The first way police in Southwest Florida effectuate arrests for Prostitution and Solicitation of Prostitution is to go undercover as female prostitutes or male johns at the street level. These undercover officers assume their roles in neighborhoods which traditionally have seen street level prostitution activity. Street level prostitution activity is simply prostitutes walking the street who are approached for business by people who are looking to have sex for money. The undercover officers either pose as female prostitutes and arrest the men who approach them and offer money for sex or they pose as male johns and approach women they believe to be working as prostitutes and arrest them if they agree to engage in sexual activities for money. The second way police in Fort Myers, Naples, Cape Coral and Punta Gorda effectuate Prostitution and Solicitation of Prostitution arrests is by utilizing websites where Prostitution activity is known to occur such as Craigslist and Backpage. Officers will either post an advertisement on Craigslist or Backpage posing as a prostitute or they will respond to ads on Craigslist or Backpage posing as a person looking to pay money for sex. They will continue to act in an undercover capacity until they are ready to arrest the person with whom they are communicating.
